Leaping Forward: Leju Robotics Secures Funding to Revolutionize Industrial Robotics

  • 2 min read

Leju (Shenzhen) Robot Technology Co., Ltd., a company at the forefront of humanoid robotics technology, has recently achieved a significant milestone with its latest round of funding. With ambitions to deliver up to a thousand humanoid robots by 2025, Leju is poised to make substantial contributions to the industrial sector. The company is actively collaborating with industry titans such as Huawei Cloud and Shenkaihong, aiming to integrate humanoid robots into a variety of practical scenarios.

This recent influx of capital has garnered the attention of several prominent investors, including Dongfang Precision, CITIC Securities, and Jinshi Investment, resulting in an increase in the company's registered capital from 1.9 million yuan to 2.27 million yuan. Since its inception in 2016, Leju has undergone multiple funding rounds, accumulating investments exceeding several hundred million yuan, which has facilitated its steady growth in the fields of AI education and industrial robotics.

Originally making its mark in educational robotics, Leju's Aelos educational robot, launched in 2017, has been widely adopted across the country, serving more than 4,000 schools and institutions. However, in response to shifting market demands, Leju has made strategic moves to expand into the industrial robotics domain. In 2023, the company, in partnership with Shenkaihong, introduced the KaihongOS humanoid robot based on the open-source Hongmeng operating system. Shortly thereafter, Leju signed a cooperation agreement with Huawei Cloud to explore application scenarios based on Huawei's PanGu large model.

In a groundbreaking move, Leju also joined forces with China Mobile and Huawei to unveil the world's first 5G-A technology-equipped humanoid robot. This technology enhances the robot's flexibility in industrial applications, enabling high-precision positioning in large-scale scenarios and significantly improving the reliability of multi-robot collaboration.

While Leju boasts a mature product line in the education sector, it faces numerous challenges, particularly in the application of technologies such as vision recognition and navigation in industrial settings. Leju's CEO, Leng Xiaokun, highlights the unique advantages of humanoid robots in terms of flexibility and versatility, positioning them as an effective solution to the difficulties of recruitment and high training costs. Looking ahead, Leju is committed to propelling the industrialization of humanoid robots in a broader range of fields, aiming to usher in a new era of intelligent manufacturing.
