At the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), tech giant Baidu showcased a plethora of groundbreaking innovations and recent advancements in the field of artificial intelligence. Among the highlights, Baidu's autonomous driving platform, RoboTaxi, its deep learning platform, PaddlePaddle, and its self-developed intelligent computing cluster were selected for the China AI Industry Innovation Achievement Exhibition.
RoboTaxi: Pioneering Autonomous Driving
RoboTaxi made a significant impact at WAIC, not only as an exhibit but also by serving as the official shuttle service for the conference. This demonstrated the maturity and practical application of its autonomous driving technology. With over 11 million rides provided worldwide and a safety record of over 170 million kilometers driven, RoboTaxi is rapidly expanding its presence in cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In a strategic partnership with Uber, autonomous vehicles are being integrated into the global transportation network.
PaddlePaddle: Empowering AI Development
As China's first self-developed, feature-rich industrial-grade deep learning platform, PaddlePaddle has become a cornerstone for AI development. It integrates core components for deep learning training and inference frameworks, catering to the needs of 670,000 enterprises and facilitating the creation of 1.1 million models. This has driven intelligent upgrades across various industries. By April 2025, PaddlePaddle's developer community had grown to 21.85 million, reflecting its extensive influence in the AI development sphere.
Self-Developed Intelligent Computing Cluster
Baidu also unveiled the country's first fully self-developed 30,000-card intelligent computing cluster. This cutting-edge cluster is capable of handling the full-scale training of multiple large models with hundreds of billions of parameters simultaneously. It also supports thousands of customers fine-tuning large models with billions of parameters, effectively enhancing computational power and reducing costs.
NOVA: Revolutionizing Digital Human Technology
In the realm of digital human technology, Baidu Huibuxing introduced the new NOVA technology, which has achieved three major breakthroughs. It leverages the powerful Wenxin 4.5 model to generate high-quality scripts and drive multimodal coordination. The AI brain can receive live broadcast data in real-time and make autonomous decisions. NOVA's efficient replication capability can complete the replication of voice, expression, and motion with just 10 minutes of human sample data. This technology has already helped Luo Yonghao's digital human live broadcast room achieve high GMV. NOVA is expected to be open to the entire industry in October, marking the era of mass production of super anchor capabilities.
These innovations demonstrate Baidu's commitment to pushing the boundaries of AI technology and its potential to revolutionize various industries. WAIC 2025 has once again proven to be a platform for showcasing the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, with Baidu leading the charge.
