The Alibaba Group has unveiled its 2025 fiscal year report, painting a comprehensive picture of the company's achievements and development trends across various business sectors over the past year. The financial performance has been nothing short of impressive, with Alibaba Group's revenue reaching a staggering 9963.47 billion yuan and net profit soaring by 77% to 1259.76 billion yuan, demonstrating a robust profitability.
The company's diverse business segments have each shone brightly. Driven by the surging demand for AI, Alibaba Cloud has recorded double-digit growth in revenue for the fiscal year, with AI-related product revenue seeing triple-digit year-over-year growth for seven consecutive quarters. This underscores Alibaba's leading position in the convergence of cloud computing and AI.
Taobao Group, focusing on user growth and experience enhancement, has seen a robust increase in new buyers, with the 88VIP membership base exceeding 50 million. The high-quality consumer group has also shown a high retention rate, with customer management revenue (CMR) accelerating to a 6% year-over-year growth in the 2025 fiscal year. The AI-driven marketing tool "Full Site Promotion" has steadily increased its penetration among merchants, offering more marketing opportunities.
In the realm of AI, Alibaba has been particularly fruitful. Over the past year, the company has released and open-sourced a multitude of models, spanning all sizes, modalities, and scenarios. The latest release, Alibaba's Tongyi Qwen3 (or "Qwen3"), has seen global cumulative downloads exceed 12.5 million within just a month of being open-sourced. By the end of April, Alibaba's Tongyi had open-sourced over 200 models, with global downloads surpassing 300 million times. The Qwen series has spawned over 100,000 derivative models, making it the world's largest open-source model family. Alibaba Cloud has also accelerated the internationalization of AI products, supporting the globalization of Chinese enterprises. As of March 31, 2025, it provided cloud computing services in 34 regions worldwide. With the Tongyi large model as a foundation, Alibaba's multiple businesses, including Taobao, Tmall, 1688, Alibaba International, Quark, DingTalk, AutoNavi, Fliggy, and Xianyu, have accelerated their AI upgrades. Notably, Quark, Alibaba's AI flagship application, has seen rapid growth in user scale, with monthly active users exceeding 200 million by the end of the 2025 fiscal year. In March 2025, DingTalk, the largest efficiency office app in China, reached an average of 42 million paid weekly active users.
In a letter to shareholders, Alibaba stated, "Innovation is in Alibaba's DNA; there is no room for complacency, only creation. Today's Alibaba is embarking on a new journey towards the AI era with the spirit of an entrepreneur." The company pledges to continue embracing the spirit of innovation, exploring and advancing in the AI era, and creating greater value for shareholders, users, and society.
