On June 10, 2025, at the 9th Digital Finance and Financial Security Conference, Ant Group's Ant Technology announced the comprehensive upgrade of its Tianjun Lab, transitioning from the "Digital Identity Security Lab" to the "Artificial Intelligence + Industrial Innovation" Lab. This move signifies a strategic focus on achieving breakthroughs in AI large model technology within industry applications. The lab aims to foster a collaborative ecosystem of industry, academia, research, and practical application, propelling AI technological innovation to converge deeply with various industries.

Dignitaries such as Zhou Yanli, a member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former deputy secretary and vice-chairman of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission, Professor Shen Changxiang from Beijing University of Technology, an expert in the field of information systems engineering, Wang Rufang, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a standing committee member of the Jiusan Society, Yang Ying, director of the Haidian District Financial Bureau in Beijing, and Liu Yong, director of the Zhongguancun Internet Finance Research Institute and secretary-general of the Zhongguancun Fintech Industry Development Alliance, joined Ant Technology's Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Ant Group, Wang Wei, in the unveiling ceremony of the upgraded lab.

Throughout the year, Ant Technology has been advancing its AI strategy, particularly targeting financial and new energy industry scenarios with the release of enterprise-grade large model products and services. On the technological front, Ant Technology has developed a reliable, controllable, and optimizable intelligent entity technology foundation for enterprise-level intelligent applications. Previously, Ant Technology launched the enterprise-grade financial intelligent entity platform Agentar, offering over a hundred core financial MCP services, enabling financial institutions to efficiently build secure and trustworthy intelligent entity applications without coding. In the new energy sector, Ant Technology introduced the EnergyTS, an energy and electricity time series large model that uses AI technology to accurately predict photovoltaic and wind power generation, with an accuracy rate surpassing that of Amazon and Google.

To further integrate AI large model technology with industry, the upgraded Tianjun Lab will concentrate on four main research directions: AI+Data, AI+Security, AI+Finance, and AI+Embodied Intelligence. Collaborating with top universities like Tsinghua University and research institutions such as the Zhongguancun Internet Finance Research Institute, the lab will tackle specialized technical challenges and cutting-edge topics, bridging the entire chain from "technology research and development to industrial application," accelerating the integration of AI innovation with industry and setting a benchmark for innovation in the intelligent era.

Publicly available information reveals that Tianjun Lab, under Ant Technology, has been the only globally authorized biometric security detection and certification lab by Google for several consecutive years. It has participated in the formulation of more than ten global standards and national standards, including the IEEE "Biometric Performance Evaluation: Face Recognition," and has had multiple technical papers selected for top global AI academic conferences such as CVPR, AAAI, and ECCV. The project "Unconstrained Human Portrait Target Intelligent Perception and Understanding," in which the lab participated, has won the Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Natural Science First Prize.
